


CAVITE:
Julian Felipe a Patriot, a Composer and a Professor of Music.
He was born on January 28, 1861 at the City of Cavite. Youngest of the 12 siblings of Justo Felipe and Victoria Reyes.
Julian Felipe studied at a public school in Binondo, Manila where he learned to play the piano. Besides playing the piano he also tried composing, some of his Songs are: Mateti el Santesismo, Cintas y Flores and Amorita Danga wherein he was recognized.

For the mean time, he stopped in writing songs and joined a group of Cavitenos fighting for freedom because of his Patriotism, he was arrested together with the Thirteen Martyrs of Cavite and was imprisoned in Fort San Felipe (September 1896) But was soon freed.
He was called by General Emilio Aguinaldo the president of the First Philippine Republic to be his pianist.
He Composed the music of "The Philippine National Anthem" that was formerly known as "Marcha Nacional Magdalo" first heard in the Declaration of Philippine Independence in

As a tribute to Julian Felipe's untiring heroism, the City of Cavite established a public school named after him the "Julian Felipe Elementary School" located in M. Gregorio, Cavite City.
"We may know not much of Him, But we all know that His Story is part of History"
